IFC hold 4th UK Scholar Professional Development session at Gatehouse Bank
IFC held its fourth UK Session of the Scholar Professional Development Programme attracting the leading industry scholars and covering topics on banking framework, UK regulatory environment, audit and venture capital & private equity.
The event was hosted by Gatehouse Bank and included an address by Lord Sheikh who highlighted the importance of standards within the Shariah profession and commended the IFC initiative. Richard Thomas, CEO Gatehouse Bank, welcomed the IFC initiative and commented on the positive contribution of such UK initiated programmes on the global Islamic finance industry.
The IFC Scholar Professional Development Programme is an international exclusively tailored conventional markets training programme designed specifically for Shariah scholars and those associated with the Shariah assurance process. The project is the only such international project being held in UK, Malaysia and due to launch in Bahrain in April 2010.
