The IFC are delighted that Graham Burnside, Partner and Head of Tods Murray Banking & Finance team, has been elected as the new Chairman for Tods Murray.

Graham is a well-respected specialist in banking and structured and asset-backed finance. As head of Tods Murray’s award winning Banking and Finance team, he has guided the Firm to a number of prestigious new appointments and has played a leading role in the development of Islamic finance in Scotland. Graham was involved in the earliest securitisation transactions involving Scottish assets and developed (with fellow Partner Hamish Patrick) the structures used to securitise assets in Scotland. He also advises on the operation of Islamic finance products in Scotland, and devised the first Shari’a compliant mortgage documentation for the Scottish market. He is a member of the Islamic Finance Council UK.

In June this year, Graham led the Tods Murray team that was successfully appointed to the newly created Santander legal panel for Scotland. As a result, Tods Murray will provide legal support for Santander's activities in Scotland, as well as its UK-wide financing transactions.
